How Building Connections Can Help You Navigate the LRP Application Process

Greetings,

I'm thrilled to share some exciting developments from the LRP this month!  We've launched two new initiatives that signify our dedication to fostering connections, collaboration, and community within the LRP family:  the LRP Ambassador Video and the LRP Program Officer Spotlight Series.

Connections are the lifeblood of any thriving community, and the LRP Ambassador Video celebrates the diverse and vibrant individuals within our community.  Through this video, we showcase the passion of LRP Ambassadors, highlighting their remarkable contributions to biomedical and biobehavioral research.  Whether you're an experienced researcher or just starting out, I invite you to be inspired by their stories and recognize the integral role each of us plays in advancing scientific discovery and improving human health.

Additionally, we're excited to introduce the LRP Program Officer Spotlight Series, providing insight into the individuals who shape the direction and impact of the LRP. Our first feature spotlights Dr. Shilpy Dixit, the LRP Program Officer for National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), whose expertise provides invaluable guidance to applicants and awardees. I encourage you to keep an eye out for these spotlights for advice on navigating the LRP application process.

For those preparing to apply or supporting colleagues in their application for an LRP award, I want to emphasize the importance of connecting with ambassadors and program officers beforehand. These connections offer opportunities to enhance your application experience. Whether you need assistance crafting a proposal or aligning your research goals with program priorities, our ambassadors and program officers are here to support you every step of the way.

In conclusion, I invite each of you to embrace the spirit of connection and collaboration embodied by the LRP Ambassador Video and Program Officer Spotlight Series. Let us come together as a community, celebrate our achievements, and support one another in our shared pursuit of scientific excellence and innovation. Together, we can build a brighter future for biomedical and biobehavioral research and make a lasting impact on human health.

Warm regards,
